3 mistakes of my summer
Life isn’t always fair… You have your share of good and bad times… Well,, mostly good… (trying to be optimistic here!!)… Like for instance,,, ever since i came back home from college,, everything was good!.. my friends from school were here,, finally had home food,, college friends had all the time to hang out since we had just got out of a deadly ordeal namely semester exams… Now,, half way through my holidays,, i realised tables are turning ,, times are changing( to bad)… My school friends have either left for college or they are here in muscat but i dont have their contact numbers!!! yes i know… im a lousy guy… Gandhi if u can hear me,, please give me a ring!!!… Also i wake up every morning with a fear of sem results popping on the website… Though only displaying how much the profs “love” you!!!… All my friends and in a few days even i,, will be starting training thus killing hang-outs henceforth!!… Sayonara OBC and my 8 hours which are pending from july!!… So right now apart from the Made In Heaven home food,,, there’s nothing pretty good happening to me…!!
Sticking to life not being fair,,, I haven’t been able to watch the only movie i wanted to watch this summer : Quantum of Solace… Not a big fan of 007 ,,,its the Aston Martin’s… And of course the fact that Daniel Craig being a much better Bond than Brosnan… The making of the movie has come a record number of times on Sony PIX… Reminding me every time,, of the missed opportunities… These are the 3 mistakes of my summer!! 
Mistake 1( The 3:30 show):
Well,, we friends wanted to get together… Movie’s a good excuse… Snce no one had watched QOS,, and The Dark Knight was out of theatres!!!,,, we decided to go for the 3:30 show… And the best part of this get-together was everyone had shown up… Which is pretty amazing for a lazy,, good-for-nothing bunch like us!!! Even though Vishnu forgot the way to Shatti Plaza (AGAIN!!!) ,, we were in time to find out that QOS was only running at 7:30… So we decided to go for Body Of Lies…The customary pool session followed… The cliche of mocking SreeK followed closely… Body Of Lice!!! lol… classic PK!! Also Sundi wore a T-Shirt for the 1st time!!
Mistake 2 (The 7:30 show):
Since I missed QOS with my friends,,, my dad suggested we go for the movie since he is a fan of 007… So off we went,, my bro, dad and me… On reaching Shatti,, it was almost a Deja Vu!!! QOS was out altogether!! “DAMN!!” I thought… It was out because two new movies were released: Punisher2 and The Mongol…. We trashed the punisher on account that the 1st movie was Garbage!!! The only other option: The Mongol… My brother and dad had this stereotype that movies about Historic events or great personalities were Good…. Well,,, its gone!!! It was the story of Gengis Khan,,, and how he went on to become the leader that he was… And the acting was terrible!! Actually,, you can’t blame those poor Chinese guys in the movie… Their happy face,, sad face,, angry face all look the same…!! It was so boring that some random dude next to me had to wake me up twice coz i fell asleep on his shoulder!!! The torcher was unbearable…
Mistake 3 (The 5:30 show):
Since QOS was out of theatres,, the next remotely interesting movie,, The Day The Earth Stood Still was released… Since some of our friends had gone the previous day at 5:30,, we safely assumed that it would still run at that time… And guess what???!! YES!!! The movie ran at all other times other than 5:30!!.. It was so unfair!! But as they say,, bad memories come back to haunt you… Only other movies running were Ghost Town and Punisher 2… Punisher happened to be the obvious choice… I personally feel the director wanted this movie to compete with Saw!! I mean seriously,,, every 10 minutes a head would be blown into countless pieces… The competition was so obvious that the bad guy chose to name himself Jigsaw!!! Call me sick,,, but the movie was weirdly funny in some ways!!! Anyways,, its a must watch if you’re a psychopath,, or if you want to become one!!!
So 3 mistakes later i have learnt my lesson… to make a phone call to confirm the timings of the movie or to simply know if they’re still running the movie!! Hope the rest of my holidays go well…
(P.S. : Vishnu had his driving test the same morning at the same place!!)
